Singapore, 31 March 2020 – We have collectively experienced another week of changes that are having a significant impact on how we all live and work. At Musim Mas, we are working hard to keep our operations running as smoothly as possible, including our whole supply chain and support network. We are facilitating work flexibility to keep our major operational sites open and planning for the worst-case scenarios.

The production of Palm Oil and its associated activities are considered essential to the economic and social systems of the countries where we have a manufacturing presence. As an essential goods supplier in Indonesia, we believe that we will be allowed to continue to operate.

We also prioritize the lives of the people before the interest of the business. The health and safety of our employees is our paramount priority. Since our previous announcements, we continue to employ practices in our operations worldwide that are focused on health and safety. We are also assisting the global as well as local communities and authorities to slow the spread. Some of our measures include prohibiting international travel, limiting domestic travel, adapting social distancing and adopting remote working in our workplaces. We have also split our teams for business continuity and we regularly sanitize the workplaces during shift change.

In Indonesia where we operate, especially in the remote parts of the archipelago nation, we are also assisting the community efforts by slowing the spread of Covid-19. We have allocated USD 1 million in the local authorities’ fight against the virus.

We will continue to review the facts and science and make the proactive decisions necessary to protect our employees, customers and communities. Our active response will ensure the continuation of high-quality products delivered by the Group.
