Indonesia – Musim Mas is pleased to announce that its subsidiary PT Multipersada Gatramegah (MPG) is the first in the world to be successfully audited against the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Principles and Criteria (P&C) 2018 in October 2019.

The RSPO P&C is a set of environmental and social standards which member companies must comply with to meet RSPO certification standards. It is reviewed every five years and complies with the International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labelling Alliance (ISEAL), a global membership association for credible sustainability standards. The RSPO P&C 2018 was adopted by the RSPO 15th General Assembly (GA15) on 15 November 2018, with a one-year transition period for growers to implement the new standards.

The P&C 2018 present several substantive improvements compared to P&C 2013, such as the inclusion of the High Carbon Stock Approach toolkit to better deliver “no deforestation”, no new development on peatlands, and clearer safeguards for labour rights.

PT MPG successfully obtained its RSPO certification in March 2018. The mill, as well as its supply base, was voluntarily audited against RSPO P&C 2018 for its second Annual Surveillance Audit (ASA 2). The audit is conducted by Control Union (CUC), an ASI-accredited certification body.

PT MPG is located in the Central Kalimantan Province of Indonesia and lies on the southern part of the Province. The mill has a processing capacity of 45MT FFB/hour and certified supply base of 9,278 hectare (Ha). It is able to produce approximately 30,000 MT of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) and 7,000 MT of certified sustainable palm kernel (CSPK).
