13 June 2019, Singapore – We recognize the importance of transparency in the Palm Oil industry and remain committed to ensuring transparency in our supply chain. We have been encouraging our suppliers to publish their concession map data online since 2018.

Concession map data is a prerequisite for monitoring suppliers’ efforts to ensure policy compliance. Therefore, these maps are crucial to assessing whether suppliers are in line with our No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE ) policy.

The accuracy of concession maps is essential. This is why we support the Indonesian government’s efforts in developing a unified concession database, called the One-Map initiative. Ultimately, governmental support is crucial for the publication of complete and accurate concession map data.

In the meantime, we continue to encourage and engage our suppliers to voluntarily publish data online, for example via the Resources Institute’s (WRI) public monitoring system, Global Forest Watch (GFW), or Aidenvironment’s concession data platform.

We will continue to support initiatives to ensure full transparency in our supply chain.
