What is the Program About?
In 2024, Musim Mas expanded the WSP to additional landscapes, including Sambas, building on our foundational work in Riau. The Women Smallholders Program equips women independent smallholders with essential life skills.
Initially implemented in three regencies in Riau, the program engaged both women smallholders and the wives of smallholders. In 2024, we expanded the initiative by introducing a Training of Trainers (ToT) module, empowering participants to become educators and train others in their communities.
Partnering with Bunge via the Smallholders Hub, the Sambas initiative focused on customized, community-driven interventions. training was facilitated by experts from Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), emphasizing maternal and child nutrition, balanced diets, and personal health.
Bunge’s involvement ensured that more women smallholders gained access to essential resources to improve their livelihoods and overall well-being. In collaboration with them, Musim Mas also introduced an enhanced training model, building upon the proven framework from Riau.
To reinforce training materials, Musim Mas engaged village midwives to conduct follow-up health checks and support, helping embed healthy practices within communities. Musim Mas also adopted a small-group learning format, including focus-group discussions, to encourage interaction and enhance knowledge retention.
