Singapore, 19 April 2021 – Musim Mas is a committed member of the NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) Implementation Reporting Framework (IRF), and agreed to carry out the first verification by an independent third-party assessor. Control Union (CU) carried out a partial verification in October 2020 upon request from one of our customers, covering 6 refinery profiles and 153 mills. This verification followed the Independent Verification Protocol version 2020 plus some additional requirements to fulfill our customer-specific request.

The IRF is a reporting tool that helps companies to understand and track progress in delivering NDPE commitments in their palm oil supply chains. Using a consistent framework for reporting on commitments and activities allows Musim Mas and the palm oil industry to understand what is required to deliver commitments, monitor their progress, identify gaps, and drive improvement. More on IRF here.

Olivier Tichit, Director of Sustainable Supply Chain, said: “Trialing the Independent Verification Protocol was an exciting experience for CU and Musim Mas, and a significant advance towards the development of a robust independent verification of NDPE commitments. It paves the way for trustable NDPE disclosure along the palm oil value chain.”
