Netherlands – Maschem B.V., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Musim Mas Group, is pleased to announce that it has extended its oleochemical value chain further downstream after completing the acquisition of a sulphation and sulphonation plant located in Barbastro, Spain owned by Campi y Jové Easy Solutions, that produces Surfactants such as sodium lauryl ether sulphates (“SLES”), sodium lauryl sulphates (“SLS”) and linear alkyl benzene sulphonic acid (“LABSA”).
The newly acquired plant and businesses will be part of Masphate S.L.U., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maschem B.V., which will cease its use of the Campi y Jové Easy Solutions brand name within the next few months.
The plant has been in operation since 2009. It is well placed strategically to serve its customers within the Mediterranean and Maghreb regions, and has the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Guidelines for Cosmetic Ingredients.
The products manufactured in the acquired plant, which are successfully marketed under its own well-established brands Easycol and Easylan, have a wide variety of applications in personal care, cosmetics and home care.
The acquisition is in line with Musim Mas Group’s strategy of integration and synergy. Musim Mas Group will retain the employees working at the plant and continue to grow its operations.
