Malaysia, 3 June 2020 – A handover of 100,000 KN95 masks and five tonnes of hand sanitisers from Chairman of Singapore Economic Development Board, Dr Beh Swan Gin, to Menteri Besar of Johor, YAB Datuk Haji Hasni bin Mohammad, via a virtual ceremony on 3 June 2020. The donation was made possible with the support and contributions from 19 companies.

19 companies – 18 of which have operations in Johor – partnered the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) to donate 100,000 KN95 masks and five tonnes of hand sanitisers to the Johor State Government. This was to support Johor’s frontline healthcare workers and their ongoing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation of the KN95 masks and hand sanitisers was organised by EDB, and made possible by the generous support and contributions from Aik Moh Paints and Chemicals Pte Ltd, CapitaLand Group, Celestica Electronics (S) Pte Ltd, DHL Express (S) Pte Ltd, Dyson Operations Pte Ltd, Firmenich Asia Pte Ltd, Halliburton Far East Pte Ltd, Heraeus Materials Singapore Pte Ltd, Hitachi Chemical (Singapore) Pte Ltd, Kuok (Singapore) Limited, Meiban Corporation Pte Ltd, Micron Semiconductor Asia Operations Pte Ltd, Musim Mas Holdings Pte Ltd, Nusajaya Tech Park Sdn Bhd, Seagate Singapore International Headquarters Pte Ltd, SEIKO Manufacturing (Singapore) Pte Ltd, Showa Denko HD Singapore Pte Ltd, Venture Corporation Limited1 and Vopak Asia Pte Ltd.

Dr Beh said, “I am grateful to our industry partners who readily stepped forward to support Johor’s efforts in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. Malaysia and Singapore are close neighbours and we share particularly close ties with the people of Johor. It is therefore important that we come together to support each other during these challenging times, to ensure that our countries emerge stronger from COVID-19.”
