Update on Wira Inno Mas (WIM) spill in Padang, West Sumatra

02 October 2017, Indonesia – On 28 September 2017 morning, PT Wira Inno Mas (WIM) experienced a spill of Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) into Teluk Bayur off Padang in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
WIM immediately mobilised an emergency response team to clean the area with the help of the local authorities.
As of the evening of 28 September 2017, it is estimated that over 90% of the spilled product along the shorelines had been recovered, as shown in the following photographs.

Cleaning up activities
The company will investigate the cause of the problem to ensure that procedures are adjusted, taking into account the findings and corrective actions where applicable.
